Saw 3 movies last night – don’t have all day to write about em, so pay attention…
#1. Martian Child
John Cusack rocks. This is an excellent movie that is both sad and very uplifting. I can’t believe this is the same guy who starred in One Crazy Summer. You know what though, he’s one of those actors who could make watching paint dry interesting. In Movies right now, we seem to have have “Movie Stars” and “actors”. Somehow Cusack is both. Worth a look.
#2. The Invasion
Speaking of Movie Stars, Nicole Kidman plays Nicole Kidman in this Hitchcock-esque “Zombie/Plague/Alien invasion flick with none other than Hollywood’s new James Bond. This is a really good thriller that is definately worth your set aside movie cash.
#3. Gone Baby Gone
Wow. You know the whole world knocks Ben Affleck, but he’s probably one of the only true triple threats around. He wrote and directed this film about a missing child in the Boston suburbs that rings frightenly true all the way to the last frame. Sad and painful to watch, but worth it for the payoff. If you’re already kinda depressed stay away though. Somebody care to explain to me why this only got 1 OSCAR nod?
